I filmed this with no plan whatsoever. I had the opportunity to go to Utah with a Bolex, so that’s what I did. When editing this project, I decided I wanted to call attention to the relationship between moving images and sound, and how different sounds affect the viewer’s experience of the same images. I also learned how difficult it is to measure lighting and distance in a large outdoor environment, especially by yourself. I am working on another edit exploring the same themes right now, so stay tuned.
